Chapter 4
- Nick and Gatsby's relationship grows as Gatsby tries to explain his past to Nick. Carraway seems to be very committed to Jay, spending any time available with him and obliging by most of what Gatsby asks of him.
- Mr. Wolfsheim seems to represent the "underground" business Gatsby partakes in- he was slightly less educated which could represent the "average American" of that time.
- Gatsby's trust in Mr. Wolfsheim, which could come from working with him for awhile, directly conflicts with Nick's lack thereof.
